Special color lithograph from a painting by Charles Hubbell and commissioned by Thompson Products for a calendar. It depicts the three Douglas World Cruiser aircraft that accomplished the world’s first aerial circumnavigation. Framed, with a matt opening of 11 ¼ X 15 in. (300 X 380 mm). Signed by Leigh Wade and SSgt. Henry H. Ogden (of the Boston), Lt. Leslie Arnold (of the Chicago), Lt. ‘Jack’ Harding (of the New Orleans), and Donald W. Douglas, the plane builder. Includes a 1 X 2 in. (25 X 25 mm) piece of fabric, affixed to the lower left corner, from the plane, New Orleans, purchased from The Smithsonian Aerospace Museum in the 1970s. Frame measures 14 ¾ X 17 ¾ in. (370 X 449 mm). Frame exhibits some scratches.
