Anton Kiendl was the inventor of what came to be known as the concert zither, though Zithers had existed in many forms for centuries. This specific instrument was handmade by Kiendl himself about 1847 and is probably one of the first concert Zithers ever made. It has purposefully been unrestored and left in its original condition, along with its original case. This is a very rare instrument. Measures 12" x 19.25". Comes with original 13" x 20.5" wooden case. From the collection of Ken McMeans. 20% of the proceeds will benefit the Jeremy Wilson Foundation.
