Following her early band appearances, she was signed to a contract by MGM in 1952, and had a singing cameo that year in Vincente Minnelli's classic film The Bad and the Beautiful. She is known for The George Gobel Show (1954), Behind the Candelabra (2013) and the cult comedy Abbott and Costello Meet the Mummy (1955).
