8"x12" Watercolour Matted. Inspiration for 'happy hour' came from my ideas for playing with complementary and strong colour using a traditionally low intensity medium (watercolour) ARTIST BIO
Rod is a local (Gibsons, BC) artist with over 30 years experience painting in watercolour. His style has been influenced by many other local artists including Sandhu Singh and Joanne Thompson. In the past 5 years his art has developed into a more expressionist and abstract feel. He has pursued that style by taking several international workshops from prominent and influential artists and instructors, most notably Tom Lynch and Sterling Edwards. Rod utilizes rich colour and strong contrast to create works that are both compelling and appealing.
