Octavo (8 ½ X 5 ¾ in., 215 X 146 mm). [260] pages. Grey cloth, spine lettered in blue and red. Fine in Near Fine dust jacket. Slight dust darkening along the top edge. Hinges are sound. Priced dust jacket exhibits slight rubbing and paper tape reinforcement of the folds on the verso. Signed on a 4 ½ X 3 ½ in. card affixed to the front free endpaper, “For Art Ronnie – with the good wished of Duncan Grinnell-Milne, May, 1971.” The author was captured and spent three years in a prisoner-of-war camp. He escaped and went on to command a squadron of the Royal Flying Corps.
