Octavo (8 3/8 X 5 ¾ in., 213 X 148 mm). 286 pages. Black cloth over yellow and black geometric motif paper covered boards, spine lettered in gilt. Near Fine, gilt on spine slightly dull, trace of bookplate removal on the front pastedown endpaper. Original cardboard slipcase is slightly rubbed. On the morning of June 4 1927, Clarence Chamberlin became the second man to pilot a fixed-wing aircraft across the Atlantic Ocean, flying with his passenger Charles Albert Levine, from New York to Eisleben, Germany. The flight took 43 hours with a distance of 3,905 miles.
