Featuring the personal collection of John Fasano, writer, producer, director, actor, artist and friend--from Aliens to Zombies and everything in between, including toys of the 1960s to memorabilia from thirty years of film production.

John Fasano (1961-2014) was strongly bitten by the filmmaking bug at the age of 8 when he was asked to take coffee to Ben Gazarra on the set of John Cassavettes’ Husbands while it was shooting in his hometown of Port Washington, New York. Fasano immediately started making animated movies in 8mm. He was especially fascinated by the movies of Ray Harryhausen and would dissemble and reassemble his toys in an effort to recreate “Dynamation,” the stop motion process. He officially began his filmmaking career creating industrial films for such companies as IBM. He made his foray into feature films producing and directing Rock ‘n’ Roll Nightmare (1987), Zombie Nightmare (1987) starring Adam West, Black Roses (1988) and The Jitters (1989). In John moved to Hollywood in 1989 and over the next 25 years John became one of Hollywood’s most prolific screenwriters. His more than 50 credits include such notable projects as Another 24 Hours (1990), Alien3 (1992), Tombstone (1993), The Hunchback (1997) for which he received a WGA nomination for best teleplay, The Legend of Butch and Sundance (2006), Sniper Reloaded (2011) Hannah’s Law (2012) and Sniper 5 (2014). John loved all aspects of the industry and in addition to writing and filmmaking; he was an avid movie and monster memorabilia collector, an accomplished artist (his drawings of Godzilla were frequently featured on the cover of G Fan Magazine), and a prolific Halloween mask designer.
